Cartonizer Privacy Policy
Cartonizer is a Shopify app that calculates packing plans for orders — how many boxes an order needs, which box, and what goes in each. This policy explains what data the app accesses, how it is used, and how it is retained.
Data Cartonizer accesses from Shopify
- Products and variants: titles, SKUs, dimensions, weights, and bundle/component structure.
- Orders you open: the order name/number and its line items — product title, quantity, variant, and whether the line is a Shopify bundle.
Data Cartonizer does not access
Cartonizer does not request, receive, display, log, or store customer personal information — including names, email addresses, phone numbers, and shipping or billing addresses — or any payment or financial information. Its Shopify access is limited to the read_products and read_orders scopes, and its order queries are restricted to the fields listed above.
How data is used
Product and carton configuration is used to generate packing plans. Packing plans are computed on demand when you open an order and are not stored.
Data Cartonizer stores
Your configuration — carton definitions, per-SKU packaging profiles, and bundle mappings — and the Shopify session tokens required to call the Shopify API on your store’s behalf. This data is stored on Google Cloud Platform (Cloud SQL, United States region) and is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest.
Retention and deletion
Configuration data is retained while the app is installed. It is deleted within 48 hours of uninstalling the app, via Shopify’s shop/redact request, or sooner upon a verified deletion request to the address below. Cartonizer also honors Shopify’s mandatory customers/data_request and customers/redact requests; because Cartonizer holds no customer personal data, these are acknowledged with no data to return or erase.
Subprocessors
- Google Cloud Platform — application hosting and database.
